The Project

The brief was to design a kitchen that was to be installed once 4 rooms had been knocked together. The island was to wrap a central supporting column and another pillar that required hiding was incorporated into the brick chimney breast.

The client had dreamt of a traditional painted farmhouse kitchen with a aga-style range cooker. Raised panel solid oak doors were painted in two tones of green, soft mint & olive, for a really classic look and then mixed in with Silestone Sensa Granite Worktops (for a similar worktop use Antique Brown). To enhance the kitchen, we suggested including some Verde Marinace Granite into the island and cooker splashback to pick out the green colouring of the doors and create a focal point in the room.

There are also a few other small details within the kitchen including the solid brass gauze inset within the island doors, the oak book shelves either side of the range and the Georgian glazed wall cabinets. A Rangemaster Black Dual Fuel Range sits centrally in the breast with all of the other appliances hidden within the furniture. A Blanco single undermount sink in white ceramic for a classical look sits under the window offering a beautiful view of the garden at the rear.
